Receive Jesus!
If you’ve never asked Jesus into your heart to be your personal Savior, now’s the time. To receive Jesus and be saved, pray:

Dear God,
In my heart I believe that Jesus truly is Your Son and that He died for my sins and rose from the dead. I repent for every time I have sinned. I accept Jesus into my life right now, to lead and guide me as my Lord. Thank You for saving me, and thank You that You have a great plan for my life! Amen.

SERVE & GIVE

Serving is fun! Being a giving, caring person is part of who you are as a Christian — just like Jesus. You honor God when you help people (Matthew 5:16). There’s something special about going out of your way to give your time and actively do good. It’s great for you and for those being helped. Using your unique gifts and abilities for the benefit of others is much of the reason you have them.

God so loved the world that He gave Jesus. Jesus gave His life for us. The Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and understanding. Since we are made in the image of God, we are also called to be givers like He is — liberal and generous. Giving is a meaningful expression of our love for Jesus, our trust in God, and our valuing His kingdom and the work there is to do on earth. Here are a couple of types of giving in the Bible:

  • Tithes
The word “tithe” means “ten percent.” This giving from your income is a contribution to the work of the church you attend. To tithe is a duty, and it’s holy to the Lord. This is the one area where God says we can test His faithfulness to us (Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:10).
  • Offerings
Giving in addition to your tithe is an offering, which includes giving of money or goods to the poor (Proverbs 28:27).

When you give, it remedies greed and self-centeredness. It’s better to give than receive, but we do also receive! We reap when we sow. It’s a win-win situation.

Future and Hope
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
